R-PHS Graduation Ceremony Using Ticket System

Reeths-Puffer High School’s graduation ceremony is a regal event and capstone celebration of our students’ education.  This event brings a large number of people to the L.C. Walker arena each year to celebrate the accomplishments of our senior class and welcome them as our newest alumni.

This past summer, the L.C. Walker Arena made extensive renovations to the facility that increased patron spaces on the mezzanine level as well as adding luxury suites and party decks..  The renovation did however, significantly reduce the number of seats available (from nearly 3,500 to 2,578.). The arena does have 700 standing-room only seating which brings their total capacity to just over 3,200.

The senior class of 2019 has nearly 300 soon-to-be graduates.  When a request for seats was sent out to all of our seniors, the total request for seats was just over 3,400. This number exceeds the capacity of the arena (including standing-room only).

To provide fairness to all graduates, a ticket system will be used to provide a guaranteed number of tickets for seats in the chair-back sections of the arena.  The number of tickets afforded to each senior will be limited to 8.  For  seniors who requested less than 8 tickets, they will receive their requested amount.  There will be no limit to the number of people for the standing-room only areas.

In a senior class assembly held in January, the President of the Class of 2019 held a random selection to inform classmates on the order (by initial of last name)  in which graduation tickets will be distributed.  The random order drawn was: X, N, V, E, U, H, T, Q, W, L, D, S, O, C, G, Y, J, F, B, M, Z, A, P, K, R, I.

For those seniors who have requested large numbers of tickets, we will be putting up for bid (all proceeds go directly to our grad night party), the luxury suites, loges and large party spaces.  The bidding map (below) shows the location and seating capacity of these spaces.  The bidding starts at $25.00 for each space. The winning bidder will receive the tickets for this space only.

The bidding for the suites, loges and large party spaces will open on Tuesday, April 9th and close Friday, April 12th at 12:00 noon.

Tickets will be issued to seniors on their official last day of school (Friday, May 24th).
