Turkey Run Serves 1,907 Dinners! A Great Tradition Continues!

Early Thanksgiving Day, a throng of Rocket Volunteers along with many associated with our local Salvation Army, assembled and delivered 1,907 dinners to people in the greater Muskegon county, making their Thanksgiving holiday better.

Many thanks go to food service director, Connie Falbe and head cook, Donna Durda, for all the work in ordering, preparing and cooking the meal that was assemble and delivered by many helping hands.

Another hearty thanks to Steve Edwards, Rob Renes and Paul Klimsza for slicing the birds for assembly prep!  Thanks also to retired Sheriff, Bob Carter for preparing the addresses for meal delivery!

The volunteers arrived by 9:00 a.m. and after a welcome by Captain Chris from the Salvation Army, meal assembling began with three lines running simultaneously, completing the work by 10:30 a.m.!  It was a sight to see!  The photos below show some of the VIP’s (Very Important People!) that helped to make this event a huge success:

The Turkey Run has been a beloved partnership between R-P and the Salvation Army for over 30 years!  You can bet that next year’s Thanksgiving holiday, we will again, come together to make someone’s Thanksgiving, better!
