The Community Foundation for Muskegon County awards hundreds of scholarships every year ranging from $500 – $25,000! Completing ONE general application online automatically puts you in the running for any of them you qualify for! Some of the scholarships were set up to benefit students from our school – for example:
Eugene W. and Joanne M. Hosko Scholarship – Gene and Joanne have lived in Muskegon most of their lives. Both have degrees in Elementary Education and taught primarily at Reeths-Puffer Schools. Being educators, they have worked with many children who could benefit from the chance to further their education and make a contribution to society. Scholarship funding will make this a real possibility. They have chosen to create the Eugene W. and Joanne M. Hosko Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation for Muskegon County to help them in this endeavor because they have seen the many ways the Foundation has contributed to the growth of Muskegon County. This scholarship is to support a student with financial need and a GPA in the 3.0 range.
Dr. Michael Lundholm, M.D. Scholarship – Michael Lundholm is a life that will live on forever in the consciousness of his family and friends. For all who knew him, he was special and unforgettable. Tragically, he was killed in a car accident at age 23 while on a holiday break, from his second year pre-med studies at Michigan State. His father, John, established this scholarship in Michael’s memory, to benefit Reeths-Puffer graduates, seeking a degree in medicine. This scholarship is to support a student with academic achievement who will be attending Michigan State University, pursuing any degree, with preference to pre-med.
