Few, if any of us, like to be interrupted when our phone rings and we’re greeted by a telemarketer. If it’s not our phones, it’s email and faxes! In an effort to curb the onslaught of these types of unwanted contacts, The TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) has updated its guidelines to include the mobile phone community. This Act puts the power of consent into the hands of the phone owner. This is a good thing!
One of the unintended consequences of this “consumer protection” is the inclusion of schools and their notification systems. This does impact R-P!
Recently, all parents and guardians of current Rocket students received an email from our Director of Technology (Mike Beidler), providing information on how to sign-up and “opt-in” to receive phone contacts from our district during the 2016-17 school year. By “opting-in”, you will be notified of important information that parents and guardians should be aware of over the course of our school year.
At R-P, we take great pride in ensuring that our communications are well crafted and keep our parents, guardians and students informed on important school information.
Choose to “opt-in” and stay connected with R-P!
