Reeths-Puffer High School Art students have developed a recent partnership with Mrs. Krukowski’s 4th grade class from RPEL in the development of an e-book focusing on The Fractured Fairy Tales of Reeths-Puffer. The e-book tales will be written by the 4th graders from Mrs. Krukowski’s class, while being illustrated by high school Art students. Each high school Art student will partner with two 4th grade students, meeting multiple times, to develop the illustrations together. Lilah Parker, an Advanced Art student at R-PHS, stated about the partnership, “At first, I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect from the fourth graders. After the first few minutes of interaction, both the children and myself had became much more comfortable and by the end of the class period, we were all having fun. Hearing their ideas and allowing them to express their creativity was both inspiring and extremely enjoyable. I look forward to working and creating with them as the project develops.”
Mrs. Krukowski was very impressed with how every student (high school and elementary) was engaged 100% of the time in real-world learning.
The original illustrations will be auctioned off (through silent auction) at the book signing party in May. The hopes from there are to sell the e-books on Amazon (Kindle) and Barnes and Nobel (Nook).
