Freshman Wins Summer Reading Contest!

We see signs all over Rocket City that read, “Read Early, Read Often”, which is exactly what our district’s Summer Reading Challenge asked students to do.  The challenge was to read at least twenty minutes everyday over the summer.  For every student who met this challenge, their name went into a drawing to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.  There were numerous readers that took up this challenge and the winners were drawn from a hat by our Director of Finance, Mr. Jason Helsen and witnessed by our Director for Teaching and Learning, Mrs. Terri Portice.  The high school age winner was freshman, Meredith Johnson.  Congratulations Meredith!

Other district winners by grade categories were:

K-2:  Jack Klimsza

3-4:  Daniel Dunn

5-6:  Araya Weiden

7-8:  Sydney Edwards

Each student will be recognized at the school board meeting Monday, September 21st at 5:30 p.m. at the ESB.  Congratulations to the winners and their supportive families!
