High School Open House Set For Thursday, September 10th

Parents!  Come visit your high school!  Bring your student(s) with you!  Take advantage of meeting your student’s teachers and hear about the learning that’s coming their way!  We are so excited about our year and want you to be an active participant in partnering with us in helping your student be as successful as possible.

The high school will host an open house Thursday, Sept. 10th  from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  In an effort to meet the needs of our students and parents, we have a format that offers two different settings:

5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Parents and students may tour the building visiting classrooms to talk with teachers about class expectations, course syllabi as well as visit with former teachers, counselors and coaches.

6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

“Walk In Your Student’s Shoes”:  This setting will allow parents to follow their student’s schedule and spend ten minutes in each classroom as their student would during a typical day.  This abbreviated schedule is as follows:

6:30 – 6:35    Go to 1st hour

6:35 – 6:45    1st hour sharing time with teacher

6:45 – 6:50    Passing time to 2nd hour

6:50 – 7:00    2nd hour sharing time with teacher

7:00 – 7:05    Passing time to 3rd hour

7:05 – 7:15    3rd hour sharing time with teacher

7:15 – 7:20    Passing time to 4th hour

7:20 – 7:30    4th hour sharing time with teacher

7:30 – 7:35    Passing time to 5th hour

7:35 – 7:45    5th hour sharing time with teacher

7:45 – 7:50    Passing time to 6th hour

7:50 – 8:00    6th hour sharing time with teacher

During the sharing time with our teaching staff, parents will hear about the expectations of the course, learn how to navigate to the teacher’s online support and other items of interest about the course.  There will also be time for parents to ask questions about the course.

We hope all parents (students too!) can plan to attend this open house!  We’re excited about the successes  2015-16 will be realized by our students!
