The Rocket Marching Band traveled to Ford Field this past Saturday to compete in the state championships and came away with another State Championship in Flight II competition.
Our show titled, “The Dance” written by Richard Paul Evans. takes the audience through the life of a father’s child through his eyes. Our band and color guard brought this book to life in a very meaningful and emotional way.
Our drum majors, Madison Turner, Delaney Scholl and Delaney Whynot did a masterful job of leading the on-field performance for our directors, Mr. Hodson and his assistant, Mr. Brian Olian.
The final scores for Flight II were as follows:
An interesting note for our Marching Band: Every trophy that could be earned at every competition WAS EARNED by our Marching Band. It was a clean sweep of every award throughout the fall marching season. We are the only band in the state that can lay claim to this fact!
The marching band will compete in the Grand Nationals next week at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, IN. We hope they continue where they left off with regard to trophies up for grabs!
