R-PHS welcomes home its alumni this Friday when the Rockets host the Chix of Zeeland East at 7:00 p.m. at Rocket Stadium. It’s homecoming week at the high school and school spirit takes on a whole new look with a variety of student events and community festivities. It started with dress-up days this Monday as students showed their pride in our country by dressing in the patriotic colors of red, white and blue. Tuesday’s dress-up day made the high school look like a hospital ward as students “faked and injury” as their dress-up choice. Wednesday will be quite an adventure as students will dress up as if they were going on a safari. If there ever was a day where you wanted to be someone else, Thursday’s dress-up day will provide that opportunity as it’s “twin day” at the high school. Friday is all about GREEN & WHITE!! Students and staff will wear our school colors with great pride as we all prepare for a great night of greeting old friends and alumni while at the same time watching our varsity football team compete for a victory on the gridiron against Zeeland East. Immediately following the football game, the crowning of this year’s Homecoming King & Queen will take place.
Tonight, our girls take the field in the annual Homecoming Powderpuff football game. The seniors are always very tough to beat but this year’s junior crop is up to the challenge. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. in Rocket stadium and the cost is $3.00 per person. Children under age 12 are free.
The annual chicken dinner will be served in two settings Friday night (5:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.). The price for this delicious dinner is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 10 and under. The proceeds from the dinner will support our marching band as prepare for another state championship at Ford Field in November.
We hope you can join us for a great night of football, friends and the opportunity to step onto the best high school campus in all of western Michigan this Friday night.
